Joshua’s educational journey began as a teenager volunteering with underprivileged children in Hong Kong. Since then, he has tutored over 100 students aged 8 to 20, specializing in boarding school and university applications, project guidance, and curriculum support. He has successfully prepared students for entry into top schools, including Winchester, Tonbridge, and Harrow, helping many secure scholarships and essay competition wins along the way. Joshua previously operated as a freelance academic consultant for higher education, achieving a 100% success rate for students gaining admission to one of their top three university choices. He offers expert support in English (Literature and Language), Mathematics up to GCSE level, and commercial subjects (Economics, Business, Management) at the university level.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Joshua attended St. Paul’s Co-Educational College Primary School and Abingdon School, earning 11A*s in GCSE and A*A*A at A level. Graduating from the University of Warwick in Economics, he was a director at the Warwick Economics Summit, Europe’s largest student-run conference. With experience in finance and multinational corporations, Joshua brings a strong professional background. Fluent in four languages, he is a dedicated educator committed to helping students realise their potential.
Matthew is the author of international bestsellers “The Unofficial Guide to Getting into Medical School” and “The Unofficial Guide to Medical School Interviews” and an experienced tutor in university applications, skills development, and project support. He boasts a 100% success rate in placing students into medical schools in the UK and Hong Kong and has guided over five students to Oxbridge (2024 entry) in the past year alone. With over 1,000 teaching hours, Matthew has spoken at international conferences and presented at schools worldwide, using his knowledge of educational systems to support students across diverse subjects.
Matthew’s academic journey began at Dulwich College, followed by Abingdon School, where he achieved 4 A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Now a 5th-year UCL Medical School student, he has ranked 2nd in his cohort and has received awards for contributions to national healthcare policy. In addition to his medical studies, Matthew completed a 1st class degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, with multiple publications in leading medical journals. He is also established in the consulting field through working on projects including advising global governments on healthcare policy, reflecting his passion for research, which he aims to share with his students.
